Re: Short Throws!!!!
The same shifters won't fit both transmissions so that's not a very meaningful question.
For the T-56, AFAIK the only ones there are, are Hurst, B&M, and Pro5.0. I haven't really heard any complaints about any of them, whoever has whichever one seems to like it. I have the Hurst on mine. It makes the stock one feel like a rubber band connected to a bowl of oatmeal, by comparison.
I also had a Hurst on my T-5. It was actually the VERY FIRST mod I did to the car, when it was still fairly new, after I got upset with my knuckles hitting the dash shifting into 3rd, even before I took out the stupid z-bar crap and threw it in the trash, and put in a hydraulic setup; I guess it was probably in about 1985. It stayed with the car through literally DOZENS of T-5s, until I put a T-56 in it.

Re: Short Throws!!!!
ive got a hurst on my t-5 and i love it...it could use to have a shorter stick on it though as its the stock height which most of you know is almost to the roof high lol
works great though

Re: Short Throws!!!!
I have the hurst with there billit handle, I to didn't like the height so I tapped it down lower on the stick and cut 2" off the top. Love it now, very short throws, plenty of clearance for hands even with a bigger head unit

Re: Short Throws!!!!
I've had a Pro 5.0 in my RS since 2006. Other than absolutely hating the gear rattle and noise through the ****, its a fantastic shifter. Its a touch notchy...I've only put 12k on it in those 5 years. I'm hoping it breaks in, eventually.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely.
