Anyone tried a 700r4 from O'reilly's or Advanced Auto Parts.
Anyone tried a 700r4 from O'reilly's or Advanced Auto Parts.
Just trying to see if anyone has tried either one. Both are about a 1000 after a 450 core return.and come with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. My local rebuilder said he would give a 1 year warranty.Any feed back would be helpful.

That doesn't sound bad really. Kinda depends on your application. If you have a stock setup daily driver, probably a good deal. If you have a monster motor (or plans on such in next 3 years, I'd look into the extra $500 and get one from Pro-Built Automatics - Dana is a member here and I've never heard anything but greatness from his customers.
Not sure about your area, but around here I can get a used 700R4 for about $300 with a 90 day warranty. You never know - might last 10 years, might crap out after 1 day - but it's a cheap option in an attempt to to just get by. Any local tranny shop (NOT a chain) should be able to hook you up with a used seller that warranties like that.
Good luck, and let us know if you go the Advance route - would be very interested in knowing how it does over the next few years.

O'reilly. Id use if it is a shift managment transmission otherwise id pass. That warranty you have to fight with the company as they will not fight for you.

I put a 700r4 from Advance Auto Parts in my 84 Trans Am back in 2006. Haven't had a single issue with it.
