well, park and reverse still work fine. but when i drive it at start up it shifts from 1st to 2nd real smooth. then when i try to go and it gets up like it wants to go into 3rd it just goes into neutral. then i have to let off the gas and let it cruise to be able to get anywhere, ive been going to work and home and thats it lately. i dnt make enough to be able to buy a brand new or even rebuilt tranny. also while im drive if slowly press on gas it reves up, as in it stays in neutral the whole time until the rpms get to high then it will catch either 1st or 2nd. but never go into third. but if i just stomp on the gas itll take second right away and ride out until the rpms get to high once again. i work at a dealership and the mechanic there told me it could either be trashed or there could be a bad valve or something else. im posting this on here because im really hoping it just be something stupid and easy to fix or easier than an entire tranny.

the only solution i have right now is that i have found someone with 700-r4 out of a 96 s-10 2wd for 200 bucks, while that would kill me financially i can do it if i have to. so please, someone let me no what to do.

 

well if you have no 3rd gear id say its toast + every time you drive it like that its just going to get worse..your looking at 600 to 900 to get it re done.. if you can get one for 200$ jump on it

 

so it wont matter that the transmission for 200 came out of a s-10? i no it has to be 2wd and it is because there is no transfer case or anything

 

as long as its a 700r4 it don't matter what it came out of
