Looking for 700r4 to T-5 swap information
Hey guys.
Semi-long time member, rare poster here. I've read a lot of threads, posts, and articles about the subject of converting a 700r4 to a t-5, but there is one detail that seems to evade my search-fu like a well trained ninja.
I have learned that the t-5 from a 4th gen Camaro will bolt up to my engine with no problem. Yes, I know t-5's came attached to v-6 engines, and that's what it will remain attached to in my 3rd gen, so that is not an issue.
I have also learned that it's better to use 3rd gen pedals instead of the 4th gen pedals from the car it came from as there are possibilities of firewall damage when using 4th gen pedals on a third gen car.
What I can't seem to ferret out is the following: do I use 3rd gen or 4th gen hydraulics when swapping a 4th gen Camaro's t-5 into my 3rd gen Camaro?
Thank you in advance.

This is just a guess, but I'd assume that you use the 3rd gen hydraulics. I read somewhere on here that the 4th gen pedals have a differnt ratio for the master cylinder. I think it was the hole is further away from the piviot on the later stuff. Which would cause the clutch to not fully release.

thirdgen hydraulics... youll need to use your 3.4 bellhousing and trans and make sure you get the clutch for the 4th gen trans as well becuase they are a diffrent spline count than the 3rd gen

Thanks guys. So, to sum up, 4th gen transmission and clutch, 3rd gen pedals and hydraulics.
As always, you guys are the best.
