Help- Is this a WCT5 for a 3rd Gen?
Have the opportunity to buy this but there is no tag on the box (I have only seen the photos as it is geographically a long way away).
First off is it suitable for my IROC do you know?
Is it a WC T5?
Would my cable speedo work with it?
Clearly if question 1 is wrong then I don't care about the other questions
Please help as need to know to buy or not.
Thanks,

No...
That's the 1st design T-5.
Look at the countergear bearing; a round thing about 50mm diameter near the bottom of the front of the case, below the clutch gear bearing retainer. In the pic, 1st design is the top, 2nd design bottom.
The 1st design bearing is completely flat and shiny with sort of rolled-over looking edges, like an upside-down freeze plug.
The 2nd design bearing is dull, has a depression in the center that makes it look like it has about a 5mm wide ridge around it, and the edges are a sharp 90°.
It does at least appear to be from a V8 3rd gen F-body. It will "work" in another such car. It has a speedometer gear for a cable; but that doesn't matter, as you can always put your existing speedo stuff in it, the cable parts interchange easily with the electronic ones, the trans itself is the same.
