Weird 700R4 slipping issues

I searched through a ton of posts here and couldn't find anyone with the same problems I am having. i have rebuilt a few 700's but never seen one with this problem. I would appreciate a little help, thanks!

Spec's: Carbed 383 putting out about 420 hp 440 tq
2400 stall converter
T.V. cable is correctly adjusted
I have been babying this transmission while saving for an upgrade, so it has little to no abuse since I bought it.

I drove home from work at about 8 pm and had no issues. The next morning when I left for work I had bad slipping in 1st and 2nd, but 3-4 have no ill effects that I felt.

I checked the fluid and it is sitting a hair under the top of the checkers when hot, but is full of bubbles. Fluid is a decent red, has no noticeable particles in it, and doesn't smell burnt. It has been about 10,000 since my last filter/fluid change.

What would cause slipping and bubbles besides being over/under filled? My only thought was if my filter neck cracked and was sucking air instead of fluid, resulting in a loss of pressure. (or my 1-2 clutch pack is flopping around in the pan causing agitation )

Any Ideas? Thanks!

The forward apply piston may have cracked. Just had one here do the same thing, and that is what it was.
