Hydrulic Clutch leaking, HELP!!!

I have a stock clutch in my 89 but it refuses to function bucause it is leaking most of its fluid out. Not sure if it's just a line leaking or the clutch master cylinder. Any other possilbe explanations? I heard that if i have to replace a line i'm better off replacing the entire master cylinder to prevent futher problems. I was also thinking the throwout bearing could be worn preventing the clutch to engage. Thoughts appreciated.

Re: Hydrulic Clutch leaking, HELP!!!

from what i have heard from a bunch of people is the line on there is prone to crack and leak. The bad thing about it is that you cant get the part from the parts store unless i am wrong.(thats what someone told me) will have to have one made. I had to have one made for my car

i found a clutch master cylinder on classic industries website but it didn't have any additional line. it was just the master cylinder. Thanks for the info.

Try NAPA. I think you can get a clutch master with a pressure line already connected.

Re: Hydrulic Clutch leaking, HELP!!!

My clutch master is leaking also, only mine is leaking from inside the car, where the rod goes in. I'm doing a T-56 swap and I think my master cylinder geometry is off. I must have busted the seal in the cylinder. I'm trying figure out how i could have mounted it wrong because I used the mounting bracket as a template to drill the holes. My clutch won't disengage completely, and i can't get the trans into gear with the car running. Which leads me to believe that my bogus geometry is not giving me the proper amount of throw.

Im having the same issue but I have never gotten my car on the road yet as I cant engage it or disengage it. Did you ever drive yours before it happened?

No. I have not driven it since I swapped the trans. Well, I tried to drive it around the block once, but it was not good. I really have to yank on it to get it out of first.

I'm having the exact same problem. Have had the trans out a few times now, and now all it comes down to is the hydraulic system.
