Tv cable seal fell inside pan

Well I just bought a new Tv cable from the dealer and when I went to replace it , I couldn't feel the seal. I found it on the floor and when I tried putting it back over the hook, it slipped and got pushed in. I've tried getting using some thin wire to get it out but, it didn't work.

Would it be in the pan or am I screwed. I'll drop the pan tomorrow and hopefully find it in there. I found some pictures of the seal and mine didn't look like the ones I found. I think I might've put something that didnt belong there. Also does anyone know what to ask for at advance, autzone, napa, etc. when I go to buy a new one? I tried putting tv cable seal and detent cable seal on autozone and nothing came up. I know the Gm part number but I dont really want to drive all the way to the dealer for a seal.

Here's the Part numbers for anyone that needs em

Tv cable Pn# 25515598 (Vin H carb)
Tv seal Pn# 25518260
Also Tv cable bolt size (I found it on a thread) M6x20 and a 10MM hex head

Pull the pan.

Or ATP pn# SO37 (or S37; they're tricky) should be available somewhere near you.
Worst case, overpay at the dealer; it's not like it's $20.

Re: Tv cable seal fell inside pan

I got the pan off and didn't like what I saw. The fluid was pretty nasty. The tv cable was off for about 3 months and I just a shop towel over to plug it so Maybe dirt got in it but, it was pretty bad. Although I did find the 'seal', Well I found both. The one I found on the floor was clearly not the tv seal. I now know not to use things I find on the floor. The old seal was worn on the top and the washer thats inside came out

The original seal must've been pushed down when I took off the old tv cable and installed a Pioneer tbi cable, which was too long. I used about 5 qts of fluid to fill it back up, I just hope this new fluid doesn't ruin the already weak 700r4. Also some sorta good news, I found an old filter seal which wasn't pink anymore, maybe it was the original. The old filter had a pink seal so maybe this transmission had its fluid changed before.

The shifts are much better though, before the shifts made the tires chirp. I still have to adjust the cable a bit but I'm pretty pleased

Also the tv seal I got from O'reillys was a bit too thick, I couldn't get the cable housing to fit with the seal inside the case. I had to shave it down a bit and it was still a tight fit. I didn't drop the trans so maybe that had something to do with it. I got it to fit by putting the seal on the tube part of the housing but it took me a long time
