any shoddy work hanging the clutch peddle, master cylinder, and look at the hole that was cut for the shifter

Is there a button on the steering column for the key release? That is a manual column and most people don't swap them. Or look at the RPO codes.

you can see the hole in the tunnel from below. seriously, thats the best way to tell for sure. theres nothing in the VIn that will tell you. I dont know if there was an RPO code and its probably missing or wrong anyway.
