New here, first post so go easy on me. I have an 89 rs with 4 speed auto. When I get on it it will not downshit at all, say I was in OD and got on it it stays in that same gear. What might cause that? I am almost sure its a 700r4. Thanks..

 

The TV cable must be tight at WOT, or no downshifts will occur and you can burn up the transmission. Have someone sit in the drivers seat and slowly push the peddle to the floor and you check for WOT and that the TV cable is out fully. The TV cable must be tight.

 

Ummm, got to looking at it and the thing isnt even on the TB lever...nice. Just hanging there...

 

Does anyone know how hard it is to replace this cable? I have found one at summit...
