I started my car the other day (1984 Camaro, 700R4 trans) put it in drive, accelerated through first gear, the trans shifted to 2nd and the car died. I restarted the car several times giving it more gas when it shifted to 2nd but it died every time within a few seconds. A few days ago I experienced something that might be related to this problem. The car shifted into second, I steped on the gas the revs went up but the speed of the car didn't increase very much. I shut the car off and started it a little later and it behaved regularly. Has anyone else ever experienced this problem?

 

Hold 1st manually with the shifter.
Slowly ease up to 5000rpm and shift into 3rd at that time, releasing about 1/3 of the amount of throttle.
If it dies then, troubleshoot fuel pressure.
