Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3:73
lock up issues or unlocking issues
noticed the other day while in D once i let off the gas pedal going eg. 70k the rpms will drop to 900. once i hit the gas again it will return to the normal respective rpm. Now i also try this in OD and have no issue, if im crusing at 100k and let off the gas my rpms will stay where they should be eg. 2300rpms. this must be an electrical issue or silinoid? dont have much experience with transmissions. btw its a 700r4

In drive it's a problem with the overrun clutch, nothing to do with the TCC.

Dana is a great guy at troubleshooting stuff over the phone and he will sell replacement parts seperately so you only need to buy what you need not full kits.

well finally fixed my fuel problems this evening.
I do plan on bringing the car in for a check up tomorrow to the trans shop they built up my 700r about 8 years ago. still runs great except this little issue.
another question i have is if im not getting wot shifts at 5200rpms anymore what might be the cause? govener spring and weights. do these things wear out? at the moment the shifts are firm but only 4600rpms
