Got a question about a 4th gen rear

I bought a 4th gen rear a couple months ago and I'm almost done installing it into my car. The thing is, the guy I bought it from didnt give me the ABS sensor that goes on the top of the pumpkin. So now there's a hole in the top of the diff. I dont want to buy another sensor because they're expensive and I can't justify the cost of a sensor I can't use.

Does anybody have any ideas?

You don't need it; so put a plug there.

Measure the hole and buy a freeze plug that size; or, tap it and put a pipe plug in it.

I'd thought about tapping it but I'm not sure if I've got enough room since the rear is actually in the car now. I hadn't thought about a freeze plug though, that might work.
