Ripped in half LS1 driveshaft, need help picking a new one!

So I was all excited to do my first run this year at the track, was a nice day for racing. Did a burnout to heat up the slicks and was all ready at the line, rev her to 5-6k and dumped the clutch... ting, ting, ting was all I heard next, moved a whole 6" lol. Guess those stories of LS1 driveshafts being weak were true, wish my stock aluminum driveshaft didn't get damaged last year when the torque arm went It held up fine tell under the abuse.

So what you guys think i'am going to need here, is there a in expensive driveshaft out there that will hold up to what I need? Once this stock shortblock goes I might be uping the cubes to 383 so take that into consideration.

Aftermarket ones are much stronger. Summit racing, jegs, and even spohn carry them. Spohn's are chromemoly and made in house.

Ditch that weak factory stuff and buy a good aftermarket one.

I had a custom made one done at a local driveline shop many years ago. 3" x .083 CM steel shaft with 1350 yokes. It's survived 6000 rpm transbrake launches with no problems.

Take it CM means chromemoly, also what was the cost to have that one built?

Can't remember the cost. It was a long time ago. Because It also needed the 1350 series ends, I think it was in the $300 range.
