As long as your '88 TA has an 82-02 10-bolt rear, yeah.
You'll need to change the speedo gear on the vss (maybe the one in the trans. too) so you have correct speedo reading.

The description:
This is a 3.73 gear ratio, only works with a 10-bolt 7.5 (7 1/2") or 7.625 (7 5/8") 3-series carrier. This can be used with a 2-series carrier only if you install a ring gear spacer and longer ring gear bolts (not included). Most 93 and newer applications require PCM reprogramming if changing the gear ratio. Fits the following applications:

82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92 Camaro, RS, Z28, IROC-Z with a 10-bolt rear differential
82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92 Firebird, Formula, Trans Am, GTA with a 10-bolt rear differential
93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02 Camaro, RS, Z28
93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02 Firebird, Formula, Trans Am
