700r4 trouble, no 3rd or 4th, and its not th 3-4 clutches

Hi, well heres the deal back in march i was driving home and my transmission lost 3rd and 4th gear out of the blue (it'll shift into thrid and the car will act like its in neutral). So following the advice of a number of mechanics and this web site I rebuilt all the planetaries and replaced almost everything with a new rebuild kit. so today we bolted it back up to the bottom of my car and filled it with oil, and test drove it with no change what so ever, still no 3rd or 4th, still feels like its in nuetral. still broken. can anyone help me, give me advice, point me in some direction please. thank you

Yea I got a manual from my neighbors garage, dont know if its the actual factory one but it had all the parts in it and how to put it together. as for the kit it was a from advance but Alto was inked onto all of the disks and on the barcode. but it had everything i needed o rings, plates, disks, teflon rings, gaskets the whole 9 yards.

Your pump probably burnt out so its not producing enough pressure. I had the same thing happen to me. I was driving and it dropped out of OD and into first opened it up and the pump was toast.

Ok which pump exactly, I was also gonna maybe check out the servo on the side of the tranny. My dad thinks that could have something to do with it.

The band is only used in 2nd & 4th.

Sounds to me that the 3/4 clutch pack isn't being applied. Check the line pressure first, then the valve body.

Ok, how can I check the pressure, and the valve body. When I had everything apart I cleaned everything and it all seemed to be fine. What would a broke one look like.

Put a 0-300psi. gauge on it. The port is about 4-5 inches above the manual lever. Take some readings and see what the pressures are.
