Final legg of the t5 swap
Hi guys I'm on the final part of the t5 swap and thats the wiring. Could someone give me a specific write up on this I no wiring guy.as for the back up lights, the clutch saftey and the other sensor infront of the clutch. I know I have to splice but which color wires go were and to what other color wires. Any help guys? And I'm sure this would help many other guys doing this swap in the future. Thanks!

Re: Final legg of the t5 swap
Question, I have a 92 z28 that I want to convert to a 5 speed..not 6 speed. I know hawks third gen sells a kit for $1200 that has everything I need. But I never done a conversion from 700r4 to the 5 speed. How much does a typical shop charge fro the conversion? has anyone had anynody do it? Thanks

Plan on spending money on a new clutch and flywheel, and possibly hydraulics. It's a used system.
As far as install goes, I'd imagine a shop would charge you the cost of removal and installation of a tranny, as well as the removal and installation of all associated parts. Labor wise you could be looking at as much as the cost of the kit. For that money you could have a T56 or a TKO.

No HawkZ28, you dont sound like a *****. I put the car together, as it was not even a rolling body when I got it. I did the body work and everything. Friend timed it as I am still learning..Im sure everyone one here has been there..He painted it. Anyway..Long story short. Im at school in another state, with no real tools, or a place to do the swap. Not that I dont have the determination..just lack tools and place : ( I do appreciate the advice, and I do have some Jeep buddies here who I use to wheel with. They have a garage. I might be able to work something out. If i have any questions, I will def ask. Thanks.

Read the stickies, search the site and read, and definately don't be afraid to ask- mine was broken into 1-3 hour sections, so I had a lot of time to research and get any clarification and help as I went. The community and information on here is as valuable as any tool in our toolboxes!
Definately hit your Jeep buddies up for the help- it's much easier/faster with 2 people. Good luck!
