Can someone explain the TV cable and when my car should shift?
Pretty much what the title says. I researched and couldn't find a whole lot on what the TV cable on the TB does or how to adjust it. Also, when should my car shift? I think I saw somewhere that this cable is related to the shift points or something.

should be a black plasic box. stand on the driver's side and push the side of the black plasic box in. It is actually a push button switch. Then take the cable and push it back toward the black cable cover as far back as it will go back into it. Keep in mind that you will pressing the switch in this whole time. Then stop pressing it in and open the throttle or press the gas pedal down to the floor. You should hear the cable click three times or so as it is adjusting itself.

The TV cable lets the transmission know what the throttle is doing, and increase internal line pressure accordingly.
TV line pressure and governor line pressure together determine the shift points, based on throttle input and road speed. The TV cable only has one point it can be set to, as it sets and affects the quality of the shift. To change shift points, you change springs+weights in the governor.
Read thru this site, tons of info:

I'm assuming that is to cut out any slack in the line...

yes, while pushing the button in. When you open the throttle all the way it will automatically adjust to where it needs to be. Just ask any transmission guy that works on 700r4's

How do I go about replacing the tv cable? Is there a special way it goes into the transmission?
