Shift Know Stripping Out!!!
Does anyone have this problem or is it just me? i think i have either pulled the brass insert out of the **** itself or just stripped the threads on the shifter assembly on every stick i have ever had!!!! (BUT 1) and i cannont find the ball anywhere im wondering if anyone has had this issue and resolved it. This question is technically for my 4th gen but will apply to my 3rd gen anyways.
P.S. No gorila glue does not work...lol

Get a solid alum. ball with a locknut from Jegs.
Use a 3 foot bar to tighten.
See a shrink about your nervous **** tick.
The Loctite or 3M two-part epoxy used to hold the bushing to the shift linkage lever (under the shifter) will hold a lot of things together strongly.

Re: Shift Know Stripping Out!!!
I didnt like the idea of loctiting my shift **** for various reasons... So I just found a jam nut and used that. It rarely comes loose, when it does I just tighten the **** against the jam nut and it works fine. It's a weird thread pitch, but I found it at a local Ace store after looking a minute or two.
You cant just buy an aftermarket shift ****?

Re: Shift Know Stripping Out!!!
Let me repeat for clarification.
The Loctite brand or 3M brand two-part epoxy used to hold the bushing in the T5 and T56 offset shift lever would stand a chance of holding a brass insert into a shift ****.
If you used it to hold a threaded **** onto a shifter stick, that would be effectively stuck together as an assembly with very little hope of coming apart.
