89 5-speed ECM in 92, is it compatible?

If I use an 89' T5 ECM when doing a 700r4 to T5 swap in a 92, will it be compatible with the rest of the car? Both are TBI cars. Thanks.

Yes, the current one is a 1992 TBI 700r4 ECM and the one I'm looking at getting is a 1989 T5 TBI ECM

your old ecm will be fine the only differance is in the pro programing. yours now will send a lockup signal a 42 mph to lock the torque converter clutch. it will work with a t5 if you ant to make it a little better just get a prom for L03 t5 tbi

Ok, I want to swap in the T5, but know that it's better to have the T5 Prom too. I know the TBI cars are practically the same from 89-92, correct? Is the Prom inside the ECM?

the ecm service number 1228746 is the same the prom is the only differance. there is 3 to 4 letters on top of the prom called a broadcast code that is the programing code. The prom is inside of the ecm just pull the access cover on top of the ecm.
