Has anybody had a driveshaft failure on a stock car?
My vibration is minimal yet still annoying on the highway. I have an opportunity to buy a 93-02 aluminum driveshaft and was wondering if I am over reacting.

Lots of people here using a thicker, firmer poly trans. mount have vibration issues. I'd start there. Vibrations are tricky to track down; feel free to post more detail.
For a stock car, a 4th gen driveshaft would be fine. For a strength upgrade, I'd skip them since some were thin-wall, cardboard damped compromise.

Do you have the single-piece trans cross member or the type with the secondary cross member (my 85 was equipped with this latter)? In either case, worn mounts might be the issue. I'd verify that before I dove off the deep end.
And if you find that you have the secondary cross member, you might consider swapping it for the single-piece.
