ok so i bought a 91 camaro rs with a 5L and tbi that had a different than stock transmission.... its from an astrovan or so i was told.... but anyway the TV cable was used from the astrovan which is slightly to short and there was an adaptor between the cable and my throttle linkage but it still wasnt shifting hard and it was at like 3300 rpm

so i tried a quick parking lot test of pulling the cable all the way out which should be max line pressure and shift at its highest point right.... well it was still a slushy 3300 rpm shift so the cable is having no effect on the shifts

the cable still has tension and springs back when pulled out and let go

so do i just need a new cable or could it be a deeper problem??
