i cant quite tell where it is coming from but i was driving last night and the car was smoking (leaking fluids onto the exhaust burning off)
well i was leaking trans fluid and alot of it everyone i have talked to says it sound like a line burst or broke or maybe a fitting i looked where the rear main is and it doesn't look like its leaking their it looks further back and i lost more then a pint of fluid and it no longer is leaking (have not turned or or ran the car since i had it towed last night)
so any ideas on figuring this out so i can fix it?????

the car is a 91 fbird 3.1v6 auto trans

 

Maybe leaking through the transmission front seal? Sometimes stops leaking when you stop, sometimes not.

 

If it is a gusher, it should be easy to spot, assuming you have the car up in the air safely, and a flashlight.
There are about 20 potential leak points on that trans. You could always put some uv dye in it, run the car, then look for the glow trail with the special light that comes in the kit.
In the states, the kits run about $50, and save a ton of time and aggrivation.
