Re: LT1 T56 new clutch serious issues...
When this happened to me, I did a search and didnt find ANYTHING relevant. No one else, as far as I could tell, had ever had this happen to them.
I read on FRRAX the other day that at some point in the last few years, Valeo stopped making the pressure plates, they're now made by some company in China presumably.
I wonder if all the new pressure plates are just a little bit thicker than the old ones, because suddenly everyone is having this problem.

Heard the same thing about Valeo too hope it isnt true
Not that I could afford a great clutch if I needed it but would find away if there was the option of one
CF is made in China now from what I head. this has been a good clutch but Im not putting my money in their hands again if I can help it. Over $800 for something made their NFW. Hope this one holds awhile lol.
All the googling I did mainly had complaints and guesses.
Stock and aftermarket clutches. Id think the PP would be a little thinner to make up for the thicker disc who knows.
Hard to tell unless they are torqued down to a flywheel
Came real close to putting a stock LUK in with my DF disc just to try it.

Old thread I know but id like to throw in my experience.
I put a lt1 t56 fresh stage 2 build by TDP behind a stout 383 that isnt running right, so its down on power.
Used a competition clutch stage 4.5.
First time installing it I had serious issues with it over extending the slave.
Second time i cut the t down 1/4"(oops guy in this thread said 1/8") over extended the fork so bad it broke in half.
Ok this last time I cut it down barely 1/8" of an inch. Worked for about 100-150 miles, had some vibration in the pedal at all times.
After one big burnout and the next push of the pedal it sunk to the floor.
It tried to build pressure back up but when it came back to the top it would NOT push back down.
I was far from home and shifted gears with no clutch and managed to get to a buddies house.
Throw out bearing is broken and the slave over extended right out, both are done.
Third times a charm right fellas?
Saving up for a Tick adjustable master new throw out bearing and new slave.
Not taking any more chances.
