Driveshaft - T56 or stock T5?
So here's the break down from what i've found regarding strength in driveshafts...
4th gen cast iron > 4th gen aluminum,
4th gen allegedly stronger than 3rd gen due to more surface area (larger diamater).
But what do you personally think, is a stock 3rd gen cast iron driveshaft stronger than a 4th gen aluminum? Anyone ever break a stock 3rd gen?
Reason being, I have my dinky 3rd gen one removed for my t56/lt1 swap, and I'm going to be putting in a cc503 cam, estimated around 320-350~ hp, and I'm worried about snapping the poor ole thing.
Your thoughts?
Thanks

You won't tend to easily snap a steel driveshaft with that power without repeated hard launches on slicks.
The later 4th gen aluminum drivelines were cardboard damped thin-wall aluminum. A third gen aluminum one is stronger.
