Is the 700r4 Speedometer a Electrical or Mechanical setup?? I want to order new gears from here But not sure.

Never Mind its Mechanical, does that mechanical setup have everything I need?

The correct drive and/or driven gears in the trans tailshaft do the calibrating.

I must be confused, I thought u gotta change the drive and driven gears if its mechanical... and I thought the electric speedometer can be calibrated with a calibrator hooked up to the ECU.

Both mechanical and electronic have drive and driven gears. The difference is that 82-89 cars have the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the rear of the cluster while the 90+ cars have the VSS on the tail shaft.

Re: 700r4 Speedo Elec./Mech.

all you have to do on the last of the 90/92 700R4s is to buy the right to gears. and pop them on the VSS.. like from 3.23 gears to 4.11(mine is the white VSS) they also make a black one)
the 3.23 gear on the tail shaft is red. you need the green/gray gear. the gear on the VSS will stay the same. with this swap. (just a exmple) easy easy
some times you will swap the gear on the tail shaft and the gear on the VSS.

parts are about $12 ea
