having some problems my tranny was low on fluid so I got it topped up at the local lube shop, now I take it to chevron to get smokes this morning and as im pulling into my drive way I see a nice big trail of oil stain in the puddles leading up, since you cant get new pre-fabbed transmission lines for a 700r4 here, (im in vancouver BC canada) looks like the previous owner instead of getting new ones made cut a section out of each line and replaced it with rubber tubing, now it looks like the tubing isnt long enough, any advice on how to deal with it, I dont have the room or the money to get new lines made, only option my mechanic suggested was to get the same tubing but longer to cover more of the line and add more clamps so there is less places for it to leak, what am I going to expect when I take the current hose off for fluid leaking everywhere so I know how much to put it to get it to the lube shop to get it topped up

Re: transmission line repair help
it is also leaking up closer to the rad, although the previous owner put a stupid almost 3 inch lower on the front(but nothing on the back) so it makes getting to anything underneath extremely difficult

Re: transmission line repair help
I had leaking lines but where they go into the tranny itself. I replaced both lines with rubber transmission lines and never had a problem. Fittings for the tranny and radiator you can get at most auto parts stores. I used 2 hose clamps on each side of the hose for a secure fit. Never leaked again. Drove it for about a year with no issues.

You won't lose to much fluid as I recall. Pint, maybe if that. Only real problem is getting to the fittings on the tranny due to the tight space. I dropped the crossmember and let the engine tilt as far as it could. Take the distributor cap off so it doesnt crack. That gave me just enough room for the job.
