Small leak.

I have a small oil leak where the axel tube meets the differential. What kind sealer can I use to stop the leak?
As you can see the differential housing has some rust. I'm gonna clean that up some and coat it. Good news thats the only real rust under the car. Not bad for a '83.
Hell those mufflers you see, they were put on before I had her painted in 1992, they still have the overspray on them. LOL.

Here's a typical type of sealer for those.

Re: Small leak.

Well then plan on having a leak.

Either you want to fix it, or you don't.

It leaks because the plug welds holding the tubes in are cracked, as usual, and the tubes can now move around in the pumpkin; and since there's nothing "sealing" them to begin with except being sort of jammed in there, .... you do the math. Meaning of course, you can spooooge it a foot deep every day from now til Doomsday, and twice on Sunday for good measure, and it will STILL leak the minute you start driving it.

Good thing to know. Thanks for the heads up. I'll see if my brother can fix it.
