T56 Flywheel Covers?

Is there something that should cover the flywheel on the front of the bellhousing on a T56? Besides the starter, of course. Looks a little naked here . . . and if there is, does anybody have one? Or where can I get one?

They're usually listed on ebay as inspection covers or dust covers.

I leave those and TQ converter covers off. It helps get more air all up in there to keep things cooler.
yes other stuff could get in there but it really has never happened to me or anyone I know yet. I'v run over stuff also. No parts an peices yet...

Re: T56 Flywheel Covers?

I would think even one little rock rattling around in the clutch/flywheel setup would not be good . . .

Are they pretty close? Or should I just order the one off Ebay ($60 shipped, for something nobody sees)?

Re: T56 Flywheel Covers?

I always left them off too then discovered what a rear main seal leak can do to a new clutch disk when it gets up in there. Cant hurt anything

Sorry about the $20 differential on shipping.

And I guess you could compare it to the one from Mass. on eBay.

Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure you need polished copper....

I've had to remove the transmission from a customer car after just that happened, a large chunk of metal, that actually looked like a pressure plate strap rivet had gotten kicked up in there, and would make some terrible racket once it got to tumbling around.
