Too Much Torque...

The other day i was power shifting and then there was a small bang and driving away, the car would shudder when in gear.

Looked underneath and found the support bar parallel to the driveshaft had caved and bent a little in the back. The rear end is tilted slightly upwards and there doesnt appear to be any bending in the driveshaft itself.

Looking around they dont seem to make this part anymore so were thinking parts car on craigslist or junkyard what do you think?

What are the odds nothing else in the shaft or rear end was damaged?

How easy is the labor for this? (friends with some mechanical knowledge)

Re: Too Much Torque...

thats the "torque arm", worst case you'll need new u-joints MAYBE a drive shaft but I doubt it. Search "torque arm" and you'll find out all about it and what it does, and where to get a new one
