If you have rebuilt a t56 step inside
I have an lt1 t56 that has a cracked adapter plate so I order up a new plate and when I attempt to put it on its too tight without any shims. I measure it up to the original and notice the hole for the input shaft bearing race is .04 shallower. Is there any other place in the transmission I can lower the input shaft by .04. The original part number for the adapter plate is 13-86-172-903-g and the new part is the same numbers but with an e at the end

1993 had a shallower bearing race pocket than 94-up.
How did you identify the trans. to the place from where you ordered it?
What 1386-xxxxxxx number is on the tailhousing tag of the trans. or top decal?
