I have a Camaro 91 V6 3.1L 5-speed and I changed my stock shifter to Hurst short shifter.

Hurst short shifter works well in 1, 3, 5 and reverse gears. Problem is in the 2 and 4 gear. I have to shift the gear twice to get it in 2:nd gear and the same with the 4:th one. The first time it always jumps into neutral so I have to pust it harder to get it in 2 and 4 gear.

My stock shifter worked well in all the gears.

Does it have to do something with the shifter stop bolts ?

Yes. Loosen the rearwards bolt.
Shift firmly into 4th and hold it.
Thread the stop against the shifter stick and lock it in place.

Repeat for the 135 stop.
