need advice on tranny thats been sitting
this weekend im going to pick up a tranny from an 86 camaro thats been sitting for 6 years, maybe longer. well my question is what do i need to do to this tranny to make sure its going to act fine when i go to install it? i plan on installing a trans go shift kit and a new filter and gasket along with a b&m tranny pan with a drain plug. help?

Add that the tranny is still in the car as well so it might still have fluid in it

The end of last summer I put a trans in my vert from my parts car (91 Z28) and it was wrecked in 2002. I pulled it about September of last year and stuck it in and all I did was drain the old fluid and add new when I was ready to fire it up and drive. I have been driving the car about a year now since the trans swap and it works perfectly.
