loud bang when tranny changes gears

so figured out that i am loosing a small quantity of tranny fluid in the transmission, so i haven't payed too much notich on that since i am pretty low on funds and its something that needs to be taken care of soon. but recently i have noticed that when the tranny changes gears that a very loud bang can be heard from the back of the car and it feels like its coming from the rear right wheel when i first got the car it it banged only after fist gear, now it feels like it does when ever it shifts from gear to gear

any one have any ideas?
thanks!

Re: loud bang when tranny changes gears

Sounds like the transmission mount is torn.

Re: loud bang when tranny changes gears

it will take you longer to get under the car then it will to remove the few bolts holding the mount to the trans. You will need a small jack to lift the trans up off the transmission crossmember so you can get the mount out. it is sandwiched between the transmission and the crossmember.
Buy an Energy Suspension mount and be done with it. Dont lay under the car without a jackstand.

Re: loud bang when tranny changes gears

simple. Unbolt the mount from the crossmember (one bolt), jack up the trans, unbolt from trans (two bolts), replace mount, reverse procedure.

The poly mount can be an issue:

And if your car is equipped with a secondary cross member:
