ok well wen i shift from park to drive/reverse it'll shift rough and kinda violent, wen i had problems with my carb it was at a low idle and it shifted smooth from park to drive/reverse but it was too low an idle so it would die after awhile. so i made it idle higher but now its a rough shift. wen driving from 1,2,3 gears it shifts fine and pretty smooth its just from park to drive and reverse is wen its rough. does anyone know wat the problem is? its a. 86 305 automatic if that helps

 

All the trans before mid 87 have that problem. In 87 they out in an anti abuse valve so stop this, but its normal

Yeah a lot of people upgrade to the later year transmission just to get away from that problem.

In need help as well. i dont know how to make a message out in public to get more help. im new. i got a 1987 camaro z28 i bought it. it has 25,000 miles.they had the car seating for years in the woods. they abused it..... anyways. im trying to do twin turbo on this car. is a carburator engine. i know i can do twin turbo. the problem is the transmission. would a iroc Z turbo transmission fit on it? im trying to keep it as original. and i wont abuse the car when running it on the street neather. only on legal races. legal tracks

i have another question haha well i usually drive in overdrive, wen its in drive it seems to downshift kinda rough but in od it downshifts smooth, does anyone know y this would be happening? and wat r the pro's and cons of using overdrive instead of just drive?

is every Iroc Z turbo?. or no?? my car is a 5.7.... and the max speed suppostly is 85. is that true? i need a iroc-z turbo tranny

 

im not an expert but im pretty sure they arent turbos, i do know they ended up switching the speedo to 135 or 145 later in the 86 model i believe for the iroc
