ok today i started my car for the 1st time in about 5 days, i let it warm up a few minutes since it was kinda cold. well wen i shifted from park to reverse my rear tires squealed real quick as if i stepped on the gas and break. does anyone know wat would cause that? its been cold and she doesnt perform well in cold weather and being a week since i started the car im sure didnt help. any info would be great

 

The TV cable might need adjusted. Your 305 should run it's best in cold weather with 91 octane.

 

Trans Fluid might be low.

 

srry i shouldve mentioned its carbureted, and the trans fluid is fine, anything else?

 

you must have skipped over TV cable.

 

Or just a pos transmission.

Did you tap the throttle to get it off high-idle? It sounds like it may have been idling a little high. No biggie.

 

yea i did actually, let it warm up a few minutes and revved it a few times, then put it in reverse and the tires squealed real quick. its never shifted smooth going from park to reverse or reverse to drive. gears shift fine while driving tho
