Help with..Drivetrain Issue

Hi guys, I recently had a leaky gasket in the transmission of my car. Took it tot the shop and the leak was fixed after the transmission was removed and reinstalled, But the mechanic who did this left something loose (I think he didn't bolt it back in right). When you put the car in gear, There will be a loud clank and upon first thought maybe it was a Universal Joint. This was not the case and There is what looks to be some kind of brace that drops itself down and drags the pavement when the car is put in gear. I am not sure what this is (Will attach pictures) nor am I sure how it is attached to the car. Any Help or suggestions with this problem would be appreciated.

Re: Help with..Drivetrain Issue

He didn't reassemble the torque arm to the transmission correctly.
It's normally clamped in a bracket with rubber bushing that is bolted to the tailhousing of the transmission.

The word "incompetent" comes to mind. Show this knucklehead the pics you provide and demand that he take action.

Re: Help with..Drivetrain Issue

Thanks jmd,And I have contacted the mechanic who said he would fix this for free considering it was his fault. And to think I drove the car almost 30 miles home in this condition.
