Advice on drive shaft needed
Was about to put the drive shaft back on last night and noticed a potential problem at the rear end of the shaft coupling pieces (I don't know much about drive-shafts, so excuse my wording here).
On one set of rotating caps, there is a piece of metal that join the two rotating caps together. That piece of metal is very thin and has become detached from one site of those caps (see picture).
Does that mean that it will now not work propery, or should I just line up those caps and bolt it on to the diff and not worry ?
Thanks
Rhys

Re: Advice on drive shaft needed
Completely remove the metal strap. It is only an assembly aid to prevent the caps from falling off while the driveshaft is out of the car.
Be sure to clean the caps and where they seat in the yoke. Just don't knock a cap off while doing it. A quick by-hand wire brushing should do the trick.

Thanks again Rbob.
I really do not have much experience with rear wheel drive cars.
Will clean the caps carefully.
