Re: keisler ss700
For years, they have had a backlog for their transmissions, but the customer has to pay up front.
Their earlier models were based on the Borg Warner T45 (a weaker trans than the T56) and they used "generous" torque rating figures. Tremec banned them from buying parts when they were simply using T45 parts.
They're usually full of all kinds of marketing fluff (like how they referred to their T45 based transmissions as their own design,) and will of course tell you the ss700 is "all new" and whatever else.
They have at least one offset shifter design that is poorly executed with regard to the leverage / additional fulcrum points.
I don't trust their numbers, am skeptical of their marketing, and see zero reason to go with one over genuine Tremec product.

Re: keisler ss700
Problem is I am looking for a tranny that can handle 840lbs of torque, the tranny I would really like is the Mcleod M800 but it was to come out over 3 years ago and I have been waiting. I just talked to the guy who is looking after development and he say another 90 - 120 days, I have only heard this 4 or 5 times now.
The T-56 magnum is rated for 700 lbs torque, and when talking to Tremec, they did not advise using this tranny, so I am stuck

If you've read 85MikeTPI's SSR T56 hybrid thread on tech and want one with 2.66 / .50 gearset, let me know.
