Auto to Standard
Hey, i bought a 86 Bernetta Camaro as my first car. It was a steal of a deal at 500$ with the only issues being paint and interior. I was wondering how much itd be roughly to switch it over to standard myself versus bringing it to a shop? Has anyone done this before?

A brief reading of the forum before posting would have yielded:

Can't imagine paying a "shop" to do stuff like that... these cars are just a hobby after all, not a dalliance for the rich and famous.

yep several posts on swapping auto to manual. just did one myself. only thing you need to figure out is what type of manual you want to put in. most popular are the t56 swaps from the later 4th gen f bodies. some t5 swaps are ideal if its just a daily driver or a cruiser but not for high power applications or hard driving. if you want high performance stuff start looking into tko or richmond gear transmissions (you can get richmond off summit) but prepare to may a couple grand for the trans.
