1st time t-5 rebuild

hey guys this is gona be my 1st time ever rebuilding a trans, and its a nwc t-5. I have the kits coming for a complete overhaul and I have the rebuild manual how ever the manual isn't specific on what tools I will need.

so the question is what tools will I need for this rebuild?

basic sockets/wrenchs (ofc)
something to measure end play (micrometer or caliber? idk the difference)

anything else? did a search and didn't find much, 1 said there was a sticky about it but there is no sticky... maybe there should be? I can give the link to the free download of the rebuild manual if needed, lol why pay 3 bucks on ebay for the same thing, or 15 for a printed one, if you could find it.

Re: 1st time t-5 rebuild

A GOOD set of strong snap ring pliers.

RTV

STEEL cluster support plate with shims (double check it fits NWC t5s)

Torx bits

First link if you google "T5 rebuild manual"

Re: 1st time t-5 rebuild

ok snap ring pliers torx bits and rtv I have but this steel cluster plate... can you explain some more?(sounds like something that's added, isn't it?)

btw I said I have the manual, which ironicly is the same one in that link, just straight from tremec instead of a mustang forum.

Get some punches to drive out roll pins.

Print the manual, set it by the toilet and read it every time you sit down.

This is a good plate. I would email them and double check to see if it fits NWC T5s

It upgrades the factory stamp steel piece.

Don't forget the camera take lots of pics for reassembly
