High Idle & Hard shifting
Hi,
I have a 1989 350 5.7L TPI. I recently rebuilt the transmission, and it has suddenly begun to idle at about 1800 RPMs.
It will not downshift from 2nd to 1st until a few seconds after I come to a complete stop, so the braking is hard.
From 1st to 2nd, it will upshift at about 1500 RPMs.
I noticed this on my way home from work, and I stopped to check oil/fluid/throttle cable in a parking lot. Everything seemed fine, but it stopped. It was shifting properly again and I drove it all weekend without any complications. But on my way to lunch today, it started up again.
Any ideas of what the problem may be?
