checkball removal

I'm just finishing a transgo kit from Probuilt. It looks (?) like there's a checkball in that deep passage that runs up/down (or North/South) behind where my new corvette servo is. I've tried turning the trans right side up, a bit of suction from the shop vac and needlenose pliers. I don't have a small enough magnet. is that a checkball and does it need to come out.

thanks

More specifically, the passageway in the center of the screen with the large diameter hole at the bottom.

Re: checkball removal

And that checkball sits in a sleeve of that large diameter hole. But there's a dimple in the sleeve which prevents the checkball from dropping out of the case. And prevents a guy with a newly found magnet from extracting the checkball. I bet I can dremel the dimple in the sleeve but maybe that's not the right thing to do.

Any thoughts?

I'd register on http://www.700r4l60e.com and once approved, ask there too.

A good idea too. I'm kinda hoping someone had noticed that before and could chime in with "what a dumb question, it's supposed to stay there" or "get a bigger magnet"...

Re: checkball removal

That is the servo checkball capsule.
Leave it alone.
That ball is not meant to come out.

Great, thanks for the info. I've learned it's better to ask first and have some patience for an answer. Not like my, uh, younger years with the adjustable and hammer routine...
