Leaking Seal Replacement Help

1984 700R4 There is a seal around the shaft that comes out of the drivers side of the trans where the shift cable and lever attaches to. I want to replace this seal. My question is , how does it go in ? Does the pan need to be pulled and the shifting shaft removed to get the seal out and in or is there another way to do this ? From the outside ? Trans is in the car.

Re: Leaking Seal Replacement Help

Drill a hole in the metal part of the seal, thread a screw in and yank it out.

Or get an AMPRO T75866 tool.
