Car, 1982 z28, motor 350ci, trans 700R4, I almost have my swap completed, cross member changed torque bar changed and driveshaft changed. I have one issue left other than wiring the lockup to a toggle. My 700r4 TV cable "actual inner cable" is about 3 inches too short .. My question is are the cables interchangable? Can I use my TH 350 detent cable in place of the 700 R4's TV cable? If not does anyone have a link to a truly universal TV cable that has a longer innner cable I can use for my setup? It is a 350 ci carbed motor, I checked the geometry on the carb and it is correct other than my cable not being long enough. I would hate to go buy more stuff when all I need is a longer cable. As of now to move the car around the yard I am keeping the TV cable pulled to keep line pressure up as to not blow up this new trans.

Re: Conversion question TH350 to 700R4
I have looked online and seen some ,, but they show a really short cable with a TON of extra cable sticking out of the end. I have no clue as to how that would work without a sleeve for all the extra cable. Example being this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tc...FYak4AodSFoASg I wish parts descriptions on these could be a little more clear....

Should be the same cable and bracket as an '83 Z28.
