low pitched roar while going around right curves above 20 mph.

Axle/Gears: 7.5"3.42 gears forth gen 2000 camar
low pitched roar while going around right curves above 20 mph.

i swapped in a 2000 rear.i was surprised to see richmond gears in it.it always has a little noise in it maybe because the richmond gears but it gets much louder going around right curves.before i repull the cover any ideas what to look for?

Probably the left carrier bearing. Which is the one that normally wears out, anyway; since the force of the gears trying to escape from each other, pushes the carrier that way 100% of the time, in addition to the side load (end load on the axle actually) that comes from cornering.

Don't be too surprised if either the carrier, or the housing, or both, has got destroyed; unfortunately it can happen. Not always, but possible. Besides just renewing all the bearings, that's what I'd be looking at. In fact I had to do a Dana 44 in one of my Cheeps just a few months ago, like that; ended up having to buy a carrier. The housing was salvageable.
