Leaking trans fluid.

Hi all.

Any easy quick way to fix a small, but persistent leak from the below pic?
I am guessing this is the speedo cable connection.

Cheers.

Yes just did this. I disconnected the speedometer cable at the transmission and pulled the bullet out of the transmission. Went to the local transmission shop and picked up the updated version. Reinstalled and all has been well.

Re: Leaking trans fluid.

Crazy question I know , But , have you checked to ensure that the knurled ring that threads the cable to the black part on the transmission is actually tight ? And yes , you are correct , that is your speedometer cable .

If Adelaide is where I think it is , Do you guys have any transmission shops in AUS. that carry parts for American cars ?

Also , it will be helpful to determine if the fluid is leaking between the cable and the black part , or from between the black part and where is fits into the transmission itself ? depending on where the leak is , provided it isn't from the cable being loose , it could be an O ring has gone brittle and begun to leak ?

Re: Leaking trans fluid.

Very good point Init4fun.... Will check if the ring is tight. We do have the shops, but it's usually not here in Adelaide, would be more likely Melbourne or Sydney.

Cheers.
