The Power of a 700r4...?

Hello Everyone
I am new to the posting/car scene and I wouldn't mind some advice. So, I have a 1986 z28 camaro with a 305 TBI and a 700r4. I am planning on putting in a TPI 305 and an ebay turbo kit for a low budget/daily driver build. My question is: will my stock 700r4 hold the new found power or should I get a rebuild/beef-up kit? Also, I plan on running low boost at first, possibly a forged crank and pistons/rods to hold the power.

Thanks

afaik the 1987 up 700r4s are stronger.maybe yours could be upgraded with the good parts.

Dana at Pro Built is the man to talk to for sure. The late 87 and up units are a lot different and much stronger than the early ones. I don't know if the early 700R4s can be updated to the later components. Dana will know.
