car stalling...

i was mentioning this problem to my buddy, and he mentioned it might be a torque converter problem.
car sat for a while, finally got a battery for her. starts right up, drives, but at stop signs shell drop below 700RPM and sometimes die. id say 25% of the time.
i dont know what this could possibly be, and i havent seen anyone with this SPECIFIC problem. can anyone help?

Re: car stalling...

Theres two simple things you can check. First id pull the throttle body off and remove the idle air control and clean it really good if it sat it could be stuck in place second the throtle position sensor could either be bad or out of adjustment.

Why would you automatically jump to the most exspensive thing? Test the small stuff before tearing into the tq converter it could save you a lot of money...

You may even want to check your timing just to be sure. Im trying to list the free things to check so you dont blow a bunch of cash on things that are still good

Re: car stalling...

yeah, for sure! i apreciate it. i just bought a small tune up. some ngk plugs, and wires. hoping this will solve the missing problem. not sure about the stalling. alternator is good, just had that tested bout a half hour ago.

i noticed my battery voltage drops with my rpms when i come to a stop. significant?

Depending on how much of a drop but the brake lights will drop voltage a little.
