I have a 1991 Z28 700r4 Camaro with the stock posi rear end. I believe it is a 10 bolt.

I am building a LS1/T56 to go in it. The cam I will be using will need 4.10 gears. What do I need to do to safely run 400-430rwhp with 4.10 gears through the stock rear end? If possible?

I don't want to swap to 4thgen rear because my aftermarket wheels will not fit.

Pray. Thats all you can do. Save your money for a real rear. And also a backup 4th gen 3.42 rear. If auto it would be fairly safe with 28 splines late model diff. Stickshift changes things. Driven hard and shocking rear will break those gears. Too thin. 3:42 would have a better shot at living but leaves alot on table

I have an ls1 t56 and 4.11 gears with an eaton posi. I have never launched the car hard or put slicks on it and it has survived for over 3 years that way. The previous 2 rears I had in the car were launched hard and both blew up within 3 months. I just rebuilt the engine and pushing over 400 hp now and have a moser 9" sitting in the garage now going in next week if the weather allows it. No hard launches or slicks and should survive but I can tell you it was no fun worrying about blowing it up all the time if the money allows you to don't waste money on the 10 bolt and go aftermarket.

You're rolling the dice. Stock diffs have been broken on the street and have survived dragstrip use. No matter what you try to do to beef it up, it will still have tiny ring and pinion teeth and the money you spend to beef it up can go towards a better aftermarket diff.

Upgrading to a fourth gen diff is not stronger. It's still the same tiny diff.

Aftermarket options are 9", 12 bolt or Dana 60. Buy what your budget can afford.

Well thanks for the hope guys, lol.

So what would be a good axle that I could run 450rwhp, 4.10 gears, and never have to worry about blowing it up?

9" will likely do it. 12 bolt may. S60 would for sure
